This song appears in Timeless as an instrumental version. I wrote it specifically for the film, and, while writing, believed it to be one of the most important parts of the film. When editing, though, I used a temporary instrumental version – and liked its effect on the scene a lot better without words. Thus, I never recorded a version with vocals. Here, for the first time, the original lyrics I wrote for the song:
Let’s Go To The Place
by Alexander Tuschinski
Let’s go to the place where we sit in the tree,
Where the rainbow dissolves and its colors break free…
Where the light still moves and it flows to the sea;
Where the sand builds new homes just for you and for me:
Go and embrace this hiding place
Knowing it never will last.
Minds are still free in our tree.
Always in future and past.
Grey flowers there grow right over the crown
The birds up above will never fall down.
We are all alone, no one is above.
The world spit us out in a big silent cough.
Go and embrace this hiding place
Knowing it never will last.
Minds are still free in our tree.
Always in future and past.
Let’s look at their laws set in misty concrete
And let us forget that we ever could read.
Let’s wait in the leaves that the world walks past
Just look at them all, their thoughts, will they last?
Go and embrace this hiding place
Knowing it never will last.
Minds are still free in our tree.
Always in future and past.
